Some years ago I bought a small golf course in California. I knew nothing about how to keep a golf course in good condition to improve much less. When my superintendent to leave, I was on the proverbial creek. I turn to this book to help you. It is an ideal book for those who have no or only minimal exposure to how the various parties (Green, tees, fairways, rough, bunkers, etc.) from a golf course. Although I probably will not work as superintendent for a long time, I feel now with the knowledge base Greenkeeping armed, and it is recommended (and sometimes necessary) reading for all my courses and clubhouse workers. Although the bases may be limited, Witteveen, the text well organized and comprehensive enough to ensure that I will achieve my career goal of being promoted to Deputy Chief Greenskeeper Greenkeeper within 6 years. In fact, in my opinion, it is on par with Chuck Schick fundamental work on this subject. A nitpicky point is that the treatment of chinch bugs, manganese, nitrogen and Gopher (and other threats to cattle in the golf industry) is far too short. In addition, more advanced topics such as theory and practice would be to invent their own type of grass to be welcomed. Overall, however, it is first class! Rating: 5 / 5

This book is best for the Greenskeeper original or a member of Green Mobility Committee. It provides basic processes such as top-dressing and rest away from features such as the mower height optimal parameters greens. Beyond that, this book away from Remida prescription for things such as the excessive accumulation of straw mushrooms or constant problems. If all you want are the basics of management practices in this book then buy. If you are looking for innovative management applications and detailed turf, then you need to complete this section with further instructions. Rating: 3 / 5
